The U

Hello, all! I just got accepted to the University of Washington! I'm really pleased, but interestingly enough it surprised me how calmly my mom, who I expected to be really happy, took it. It kind of hurt, but oh well, thus is life. I wasn't thrilled myself, but it is nice to have a choice to go to the U if I really want to.
I have no idea what I want to do with my life, so I think that maybe I'll go to a community college to get prerequisites out of the way at a cheaper cost. But then I keep thinking that maybe I was accepted to the U (the only university I applied to) because God wants me to go there. But maybe not, so I'm just really confused, and I really don't have an opinion in the matter, which is like, yea, not helping my decision.
I've been working a lot this week, and will continue to pretty evenly, so I haven't had as much time to read as I would like. It's hard fitting in God, school, and work in their respective priorities, isn't it?
I think that's all for now, so yea. If anyone has any ideas about what they think they could see me doing as a career, PLEASE share!
Love through Christ,
Christie

Some Thoughts...

I just ended a relationship that has been rather addictive challenging confusing deep difficult. Not only did it cause problems in my life at home with my family, but also with my Christian life. In a way I'm glad that now I can focus all of my attention towards God, but I am also worried that I may not use this experience to change my life, and instead do greater harm my pining after it. I suppose the only way I can resolve that is to be strong and very courageous. "Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed...for there be more with us than with him." --2Ch 32:7.

I just returned from the ABSCO (Associated Bible Students of Central Ohio) convention last week. I had a wonderful time, and was able to meet a family the father of which my dad grew up with. It was a blessing to be able to meet their daughters, who are around my age and who I was able to talk to. We were able to bond over the sad reality that anyone we would like to marry (who believes the same as we do) would more than likely be in Poland! (it's an inside joke, so don't think too hard)

Well, I have the most overwhelming urge to watch a movie, but I think I'll read a scriptural article first.

Christie

Hello, all!

Nothing new to report - I had one of the best conversations with Elyse over AIM last week! It was so wonderful to discuss the scriptures!  I hope we can do it again soon!

I'm so glad the WASL's over, although I miss the 2 classes - a - day schedule. Oh well... Next year we won't have to come to school until 10:30! Hurray!

We just finished meeting, which was at our house this week. It was such a blessing to share experiences with the brethren, and I can't wait until our tabernacle meeting on Wednesday!

Love through Christ,
Christie

          On Eagles Wings
You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord,
Who abide in His shadow for life,
Say to the Lord, "My Refuge,
My Rock in Whom I trust."

    Refrain
    And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
    Bear you on the breath of dawn,
    Make you to shine like the sun,
    And hold you in the palm of His Hand.

The snare of the fowler will never capture you,
And famine will bring you no fear;
Under His Wings your refuge,
His faithfulness your shield.

You need not fear the terror of the night,
Nor the arrow that flies by day,
Though thousands fall about you,
Near you it shall not come.

For to His angels He's given a command,
To guard you in all of your ways,
Upon their hands they will bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

Dear Friends:

These hymn lyrics really mean a lot to me, and they came into my presence at just the time they're needed. Enjoy!

"TAKE TIME TO BE HOLY"

Take time to be holy! Speak oft with the Lord:

Abide in Him always, and feed on his word;

Make friends of God’s children, help those that are weak,

Forgetting in nothing His blessing to seek,

Take time to be holy! The world rushes on;

Spend much time in secret with Jesus alone;

By looking to Jesus, like Him thou shalt be;

Thy friends in thy conduct His likeness shall see.

Take time to be holy! Let Him be thy guide,

and run not before Him, whatever betide;

In joy or in sorrow, still follow the Lord,

And, looking to Jesus, still trust in His Word!

Take time to be holy! Be calm in thy soul,

Each thought and each motive beneath His control;

Thus led by His spirit to fountains of love,

Thou soon shalt be fitted for service above.
